'My experience' - Mekala

In 1991, my husband Mr.Kesavan invited our Guru to bless our house. While our guru was having dinner, I asked him if I could see 'Mother' in person. Our guru jokingly told that since I am here, soon you might see her. At that time I was expecting my 3rd child, I felt blessed and happy on hearing it. After few weeks, I gave birth to my 3rd child, a girl.

A few days passed my husband went back to work after his leave. Soon after he left for his night duty. I went to sleep in my room while other the children were sleeping in their room. It was past mid night; my baby started to cry for milk. I got up slowly and went to the kitchen to prepare milk. While preparing the milk I sensed that someone was watching me from behind but I dare not turn back. I quickly walk out of the kitchen with the milk bottle. When I stepped out of the kitchen I saw ‘Mother Periyachi’ standing at the entrance of our prayer room which was just beside the kitchen.

I became very frightened and started screaming. I ran into my bedroom and along the way dropped the milk bottle.  I hid myself under the blanket and slowly dozed off unknowingly forgetting about the baby.  The next morning my husband returned back from work. He woke me up and asked me why I was still sleeping.  I then related what happened.  He went and searched for the milk bottle and found it under the table in the dinning hall.  We then checked and found our child still sleeping and her stomach was still full. We then sensed that ‘divine mother’ herself had fed the child.  At that spur of the moment, I could only remember her fierce face, big rounded eyes that looked like marble and dark outlook.

I became sick and lost my voice for a week due to the screaming. After sometime, when we visited our Guru, he named my child as Vijayanandini, a name of a fearless lady warrior. When my daughter grew up, she naturally began to adore ‘mother Periyachi’. Due to our faith and devotion in our Guru Sri Kalki Jothi and ‘Mother’, I am blessed to see ‘her’ in person quite frequently and my Guru’s divine forms in my dreams. I consider myself as gifted to have a marvelous Guru who had showed me the righteous path.

Kesavan (A Devotee's Experience)

In 1988, when my son was about a year old, he was suffering from terrible cough.  I sought treatment at specialist clinics.  It did not solve the problem.  I then sought treatment from one hospital to another but it did not help.  Everywhere they diagnosed him to be suffering from early stages of asthma and told me my son has to live with it.

At that point of time, my brother-in-law who knew Kalki Swamigal asked me to seek help from him.  I brought my son to see Swamigal.  Swamy said this is a small problem.  He blessed some water and asked me to give it to my son.  I followed his directions with full faith in Swamy.  Like a miracle, my son’s aliment disappeared without a trace.  From that point onwards I became a full devotee of Swamigal.

Our family’s god is ‘Mother Pidari’ another fierce form of ‘Mother’. My mother-in-law prayed to her to conceive a baby girl as her 2nd child. Her family lineage did not have a female for many generations. That child is Manimekalai, now she is my wife. Due to such blessing, my wife always have to ask permission from ‘Mother Pidari’ to attend any prayers. If she forgets, something unexpected will happen to her for neglecting or forgetting to seek ‘Mother Pidari’ permission. There were many such painful incidents and nobody could solve this problem for us. When my wife met our Guru for the first time she was warned but our Guru’s grace was much required by us. One day Swamigal gave his photo to me and I placed it in my prayer room and pasted another photo on my main door. That night ‘Mother Pidari’ came in my wife’s dream and scolded her. ‘She’ complained that she couldn’t enter through the front door because of the photo. My wife told her to go and meet my guru or ask me about it.  However, she did not bother me.

When we next visited our Guru, Swamigal told us about ‘Mother Pidari’s visit before we could tell him about it. We were taken by surprise by this.  Swamigal told us ‘She’ came near and bowed down to strangle me. I sensed her presence but pretended to be sleeping. When she came closer to see my face, she quickly stepped back. She saw my original form. Swamigal then spoke to her and asked to protect us as her devotees. ‘She’ also agreed to have Swamigal’s photos in our home and she will not harass us. When our Guru told us of ‘Mother Pidari’s’ visit and their agreement this consoled us.

On another incident few months after the birth of my third offspring, my wife returned home after a visit to her mother’s home.  I was then working 2nd shift.  At about mid-night, I returned home from work.  After I had my bath, I went to my bedroom. My wife who was asleep sat up.  She pointed to the window and said ‘I want to go downstairs, she is calling me’.  I realized that something was not right.  I went to the altar and took some holy ash ‘vibuthi’ and applied to my wife’s forehead. But, my wife kept repeating those words relentlessly. It occurred to me to try something.  I again applied vibuthi and chanted Swamigal’s mantra which I was reciting myself.  Suddenly, my wife uttered in my “Guru’s voice” telling ‘Pidari (our family goddess) go and chase it away’. I was surprisingly shocked to hear this. Seconds later, my wife slumped on to the bed. She then got up and asked me what happened.  I told her nothing happened and asked her to wash her feet and go to sleep.  The next morning, I asked her where she went and she told me that she had been to her mother’s place. She brought back some meat gravy given by her mother. Her mother had given her the curry with a big nail to prevent evil spirits from harming her.  However, it attracted a bad spirit to follow her. Then I explained to her how the evil spirit controlled her and how she was saved.

There are many such incidents or we can say miracles that we have witnessed in these past years and definitely there are many more to witness in the near future.
